FLASH 2016: July 15-18th

Postby Gromit » Fri Aug 21, 2015 3:40 pm

Ok folks, roll up for another few days' intense motorcycling/socialising/liver damage/side-splitting joke telling/tales of daring etc etc...

Tony's put dates up for next year - at the moment, June 24-27 and July 3-10 are full. I've contacted him to ask if one of those is a weekend I've already asked for so hopefully he'll get back asap. Otherwise our choices are June 10-13 or July 15-18. I'd prefer the July dates tbh - ok it could be warm, but there is a better guarantee of decent weather.

As soon as I know anything, I'll put the info on here. :)

Ok folks - we have confirmation, FLASH 2016 will be July 15th-18th

Obviously those are the nights stopping at Tony's - travelling days will be either side (ie I'll be catching the overnight ferry on 14th, returning on the 19th).

Further info can be found on Tony's website here

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

OK folks, it's time to 'call in' those who intend to join us for Flash next year. If those who do wish to go would pm me asap where (if they don't still have it) I'll forward Tony's bank details for the payment of deposits.

Need to get this sewn up fairly pronto as Tony will need to release the other places on our weekend.

Many thanks.

Need to do a roll-call for those who wish to do FLASH next year - please let me know asap either in this thread or via pm. Deadline will be this friday, after which the remaining places will be farmed out to non-Boxertrix folk.

Thanks.

This weekend's looking slightly flaky at the moment - Tony's asked if we can muster at least another 3 bods to go otherwise it may end up being canned. :(

Hello Team Boxertrix
Gromit has thus far failed to let me know which of you suffer from life-threatening allergies and which aren't too bothered about motorcycling at all :-)

Christmas passed off relatively uneventfully and I now possess an additional two copies of "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" to add to my collection, alongside my "Long Way Round" mountain; SHOULD you be moved to bring gifts please restrict them to the sidestand-puck variety.

In 2016 let it be known that I will not have any "spare oil"
Please bring your own toothbrush, mine is looking decidedly second-hand

Roads have been fettled, run-offs graveled, the sheep are impregnated and the andouillettes are gamboling happily in the fields.

As always we promise you the finest biking holiday and gastronomic weekend bar none and all for the price of an afternoon's rental for a parking bay in Bayswater.

Stay shiny side up Good People and hie to your calendars!

Yours aye
Tony (aka The Amazing FLASH and his Singing Beemers)
Come on down to a FLASH weekend break in South West France!
Rufty-Tufty, tassled, Bikers ONLY. No cars please! (unless it's a Volvo Estate with a carbon fibre tow-bar)

I might be alone in this - but I wouldn't want to book ferry or tunnel and then find out that the residence booking depended upon more places being filled. :?

Just to confirm that this weekend is definitely a "go", so if you want to join and book a ferry, you can do so in totally certainty that you will be feasting heartily on Flash's fine cuisine and sampling the lovely empty twisty roads he has pre-booked for us.

Now, stop dilly-dallying and sign up. You absolutely won't regret it.

A bientôt amigos,

Paul [smilie=french.gif] + [smilie=biker.gif] = :headbang:

Still places available if you can get down to Melle for the evening of Friday July 15... See you there.

Cheers,

Paul

Hello Huw ☺
I remember you well! How could i not when the memory is tied to the unforgettable sound of a thousand crystal glasses being smashed to smithereens.😅😅

Paul was the only one who turned up from the old Boxertrix team but i do believe he had a ball. Everybody left this morning in temperatures in
the mid 30s, Paul heading further south to Perigueux. He will no doubt soon be posting some of the thousands of pics he took while he was down here.
Good to hear from you again
All the jolly
Tony

An excellent weekend, chez Flash, as ever. What's not to like? Marvellous hospitality, great company, fantastic roads, perfect weather. Can't understand why there weren't any other takers from the site. I'll be back!

Wending my slowly home via the scenic route. Happened upon this place, which looked very much like my kinda town:
