Postby boxerscott » Sun Oct 14, 2012 8:25 pm

http://s872.photobucket.com/albums/ab28 ... st%202012/

Day 1 Jed to Montigny (Rouen)

day 2 Montigny to St Emillion (Montagne, Bordeaux)

Day 3 Montigny to Palencia (Leon province, northern spain
via lunch stop at San Sebastian)

day 4 Palencia to Villa at Esposende (coast northern Portugal above Porto)

6 nights at Villa, one day out on public transport to Porto, one Duoro Valley ride out.

Day 11 Paradores Puebla De Sanabria Northern Spain

Day 12 Paradores Fuente De Picos de Europa

Day 13 Brittany Ferry Santander.

Not a drop of rain till we got back to Portsmouth whereupon the heavens opened. No period of unmarriedness with bike or Amanda (well almost in the case of the latter :) ) Fitted the bike with 4 new plugs and a new rear conti, ran with the existing front M3. Used 1.4litre 10 w 40 mineral although I suspect she was low on setting off. Big thumbs up for Spain and Portugal (inexpensive thought we) thanks to Chris (wingapedia) for his helpful suggestions and others who replied to my earlier post.

Note to self... sign up to TelePeage for next Europe run.

Relais Hotel Montigny nice room menu "swedish massage" no wonder there were so many blokes at dinner commented Wifey :)

Rant, Where on earth do all these Tossers  on their square milk churn laden "Gee esses" learn to feckin ride :?: typically swaying and wafting all over the bloody place, Over.

Looks like a cracking trip Chris. Slightly envious. That said, have had a fun day out at a local maze with the two ladies in my life, and wouldn't change a thing. Will I still be able to ride a bike when my 9 year old decides to spread her wings?

Mr. Spock is my role model so be advised; I possess no (discernible) sense of humour.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.

wonder how it would stack price wise with getting the ferry direct to Spain, with not paying peage, fuel, hotels, wear and tear etc?

Steve, me no likee boat trips, but that aside our crossing back was "good", in fact we plan to do Spain again next year and we will do ferry both ways cos we are going right down to the bottom. Big thumbs up from us for biking in Spain; we like France but it is getting pricey.

Wear and tear? you mean provenance
