Tyre Depth (55/50)

Postby jltownshend » Mon Apr 21, 2008 1:23 pm

I have been offered a 50 rather than 55 rear.

Other than lowering the bike, any thoughts on pros/cons?

Thanks,

John

PS. FWIW, it's not actually for the 11S

It'll obviously change the gearing too (I'm assuming the width is the same?). If it's for knocking about on and just wearing out then I reckon it'll be fine but when I fitted a 180 instead of the 170 on the 4.5 rim I was quite surprised about the (detrimental!) effect on the handling.

I hadn't thought of that...though I knew it would change the speedo.

It's a 190/50 instead of a 190/55.

Thanks,

John
