Mobile phone alert on bike movement?

Postby RiceBurner » Mon Feb 23, 2004 11:18 am

anyone used one of these devices?? or got a link?

Considering one for the my new bike (to go with the alarm etc) as extra security for when it's parked up in London.

Mobile Phone - Bike movement alert system

Postby Huw Fryer » Mon Feb 23, 2004 4:42 pm

Look in last months Ride - there was an article on bike theft and the measures that security firms used to delay the thieves - a mobile phone text alert device was featured - I'll get the info tonight and post tomorrow but from memory it was about 275 pounds

I'm sure it's a good idea, but what do you do if you get a txt to say your bikes being knicked, especially if you're not within shotgun range :?:

That's IF the text gets to you within a few moments. Sometimes, I've had them turn up four+ hours later!

Get a rottweiller and chain it to the S. And make it a female so it don't pee on your wheels :
