Plate bracket pix

Postby Black Knight » Tue Mar 18, 2008 10:48 am

I'm sure not to everyones taste and I've heard all the legal/illigal comments before so don't need to hear them either!

Ordered a Steath plate bracket from Dennis at...

http://www.r1100sgoodies.com/

Very helpful guy, didn't charge any extra for delivery from the U.S.
Arrived exactly a week after I ordered it.

I admit to not fitting it myself as i'm a technical retard but it did come with comprehensive instructions as well as various wires and connectors for any eventuallity. Only thing I could possibly fault is that you can see the wires through the little gap in the back, I will maybe fit a little black plate in there.

I know it's filthy!

I agree, the illegible font must look inviting to the BiB.

my first thought was the bracket was fitted back to front as seems to be hiding most of the plate! (i believe theres a different between discreet and hidden)
good luck!

That does not look right to me. I have had 2 of the extra stealth number plate holders fitted to 2 different Boxer Cups and I could not see the wires on both.

With out seeing it in the flesh cant understand why it looks like that.

a bit of gaffer tape over the plate would do the same job surely :D It would be more stealthy if the plate itself didn't attract so much attention?

Sorry but I would'nt chance riding around with a plate like that, Undersize/illegible and obscured might as well remove it altogether. Still if you are prepared to risk it thats up to you. To my eyes it just screams pull me officer.

Peter.

Cant see the point really.

Smaller plat OK different bracket to make it look tidy ok.

But a font that is so wrong surely means a tug by the constabulary.

Still as I have said before it's you're choice a to heck with the nockers.

just don't complain when you get pulled for no reason and get a producer etc. etc..

This post was for anyone that was interested in the bracket or wanted to see what one looked like fitted.

I don't need to hear the negative comments, I've heard them all before. I'm aware there is a possiblity of getting pulled over but i'ts my risk and i'm happy to take it.

I really couldn't give a toss what other people think about the plate, I like it.

The VERY FIRST LINE of this thread states that i don't want comments on the legality of the plate, very first line! Some people just can't help themselves.

Oh, come on! You can't post a thread like that and restrict people to back-slapping comments. Don't mean to flame you.........

I reckon you make life harder for others on bikes by perpetuating the (already popular) image of "don't give a sh1t bikers, us & them". If I was a copper I'd nick you for that.

That said, it's a free country and you can do what you like. My plate's smaller than strictly legal, my pipes are loud and my HIDs are damn bright

Good luck with it.

No offence taken POB :)

Certainly wasn't after back slapping comments, just thought i'd stick a pic up for those that hadn't seen one before.

Yeah, I may get pulled, If I do I'll deal with the consequenses. I don't think i will though, it's much more likely that i'll get caught on camera, thats how policings done these days. They play their game, I'll play mine.

I never realised having a small plate makes you such a bad person! Must be a bit like having two mobile phones.
