Engine Paint?

Post the Welsh Weekend my next upgrade is to touch up the engine paint where the OE coating has spalled off mainly around the headers, but also the fins / water trap inboard from the rocker covers. In the past I've used POR-15 high temperature silver. It's a reasonable match and has performed OK except it has a tendency to go yellow after a while. So, just wondering if there's an 'official' paint one can use? If not I'll carry on with POR. Ta! J

OK, ta, I'll have a look. I blow hot and cold on RS paints. The colours are a good match but are water based so you need to apply the lacquer to fix them. Trouble is, the pots of lacquer go off in a few months so if I find myself having to order more in each time... Anyway. I'll check out Hammerite and see what's what. J

Did you use silver Hammerite on your engine? If so how did it go?
I have used it on fork legs ect, but not on an engine.
An 1100S project coming up and it will need a bit of tidying around the engine. Cheers

Search for posts by RSBowling. He painted the engine with Smoohrite and made a really good job of it

Search RSBowling there’s more than one post but if you look up “winter project “ you’ll see the results of his paint job
