Wafers or Tumblers for R1100s panniers

Postby Karl Palin » Wed Apr 21, 2021 9:54 am

Hi,
I'm wanting to code the locks in my panniers to my ignition key (not the key they came with).
I don't have the right combination of tumblers to do this for my ignition key.
The locks currently work (original key) with the following combination of tumblers 1 2 2 and on reverse side 3 3 1.
I don't know what different tumblers I need but I have not been able to get the right combination with the tumblers I have.

BMW will only sell me new locks and keys not just tumblers.

Does anyone have spare tumblers to donate or sell?
Does anyone know how to identify the tumblers I will need?

Thanks for help.

Karl.

"Wafers" seems to be the correct term, if that helps getting more answers.

You don’t need to match all the wafers 3-4 will do the job, try a different dealer as a lot of dealers will give them away, you can get new locks to code from bmw for £20, I don’t think that’s too expensive.
