Oil level sight glass

I think I need a new one.... I'm sure i'll be able to replace it quicker than it's taken me to upload this but just in case , has anyone replaced one :oops: and yes , I know it's Perspex, but glass sounds better,

Replaced mine last year and used Steptoe's method. Very quick and easy to do.

Its pretty easy to replace. Once the glass is out use a seal puller. I made the mistake of trying to pry out from the edges. Ended up nibbling away on the outter lip. Made it way less fun to remove.
One of the instructions posted online says not to use any oil. I spoke with the head mechanic at my local BMW and he said they use a tiny bit. Drop on your fingers and rub around then rub off on towel then on the sight. I did it and it went in really easy..hasnt popped out yet!

Only got around to doing this today.. :oops:
30 seconds to remove and a couple of minutes to replace.
I used this to remove.
