That's great news then. Looks like I'll get a good combination of wear and 'feel' from the Pilot Road 2. Next challenge is to find them cheap. Might look up the ebay guy. :wink: Have just emailed him with a pricing request. If the price is good I'll post again.

Pilot road 2 for me out of those choices. Had them on TDM and ridden with them on a few bikes now. I have 2ct powers on the 1200s

Guys,

is anyone else riding their S on BT021s or am I the only one?
so far i have done about 200 miles on them and the feel fine...
but the rolling noise is a lot more than my previous road attacks....
btw. paid: £177 for the pair fitted

Got them on teh Blackbird and they spin up like nobody's business.
Used to be a fan of Bridgestone but not any more, which I know will all be in the head. Apart from the spinning thing.

Pilot Road 2's are very impressive all round and my local tyre place does em for £170.00 ish all in!
Road Attacks were ok (not as confidence inspiring as the PR2's) till the rear squared off horribly with 4mm of tread to showing....had to bin them!
Would like to try the latest Bridgestone 021's at some stage.

If you're talking non-radial, then Avon Road Riders are the current equivalent of the PR2. I'm tempted to try a set on the Deauville even though it's supposed to have Radials fitted. Can get a pair of these fitted for around £120.00!

Everyone on every forum I've seen really rates Avon Storms. I will eventually try a pair.

anything'll spin up enough if you give it enough welly!

I have had 2 sets of 020's too hard
1 set of Z6's ok
2 sets of Pilot Roads good in wet
1 set of Pilot Powers good in dry
Still on 1st set of Sorm St's best yet, good wet or dry. Will use next time.

Already had new BT020's on mine when I got the bike last year. Only covered 3000 miles, with lots of tread still left. Seem OK but I have nothing to judge them against. How long do front/rears last?

The only problem I have is the vague front end which I believe is more of a bike-thing than a tyre fitment thing.

I'll see how the poll goes and may try something different next time.

I can't really give a long term report but my BT014'S are wot the bike came with and iv'e ridden thro hail storms and out british summer? and there great so i'll replace them with the same maybe next spring.

Pirelli Diablos for me. Grippy enough for road and intermediate track (slide-y at the end of a good session); secure enough in the damp/wet. Another one that some people don't get on with.

I suspect this may be more to do with a poor front shock! Upgrade the suspension to one of the popular replacements and feel the bike become more sure footed.

Interesting choice for voting.
My s/h 13k 1100S came from a Main Dealer 6 months/6k ago wearing new BT020's. A nail in the rear on the way to get the rear shock replaced (collapsed) under warranty meant it was easiest to get the tyre replaced (it was down to 2mm anyway) by said dealer at the same time. I talked tyre choices, only to be told that 020's were what BMW recommended, so that was all they were prepared to put on.
