I guess you were expecting a little more than that tho'. Pirelli Diablos are what you want matey.

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Do these Diablos last as long, longer or less than 010's? I've heard good things about them, including their longevity, but all the Pirellis I've had in the past disappear in no time.

Gents,

I had the diablo's fitted on a hot day towards the end of last summer (about August time?). I must have done in the region of 4.5k miles on them since then and they are still comfortably the right side of legal, tho' the rear has squared off with winter use and the front has a distinctly triangular profile. Unlike the 010's which wear strangely, the handling is still quite predictable and confidence inspiring. I will be doing the Boxer trip up North on this pair of tyres and I'll review the need for a new pair when I get back. My gut feeling is that they last a bit better than 010s.

Michelin Pilot Sport did me well last year. 7,000km rear, 11,000km front and stuck like glue in rain, cold and heat. Changed to the Pilot Road when they were done to get some extra life. Caned the new rear through Lolo pass, Chief Joseph senic highway and Beartooth pass near Yellowstone. I'll buy them again. :D

You rate the Roads then? Gary (Gats) also has some on his K12 and likes them, seems they may well be another good alternative to the, let's be honest, ubiquitous BT020. I've always been a fan of how Michelins 'ride' in that they make the bike feel comfortable. :)

I had some Pilot Sports on my Falco.Didn't like the front one bit.It seemed to take forever to warm up.
Never tried them on anything else cos I totalled that bike!

I'm an Avon man - AV45/6 are great in the dry and last AGES. I've got a BT020 on the back at the moment and they seem to wear very quickly - I've got a Z4 Metz on the front and it's as noisy as you like and scares the poo out of me when it's cold cos it seems to take a blow torch to warm it up. Mind you, if you ride in the wet, the Avons can get a little 'loose' but I don't mind too much - at least it slows me down and stops me doing something stupid in the rain. With the Metz I frequently feel like i'm loosing the front, with the Avons I was loosing the rear - you pays your money...

Would have to agree, 020's wear horribly on the front. Good old Macadams are seeing me nicely through winter and at £130 a pair!

I was very impressed with the Pilot roads but they're a bit pricey.

Sods law is at work........last night I got a puncture, had to poodle home the last 10 miles with a 3" long M8 bolt in the rear tyre :x

Had to go to my local tyre place and as the hole was to near the edge had to stump up £109 for a new Macadam 100. After my ride to work this morning the handling has gone very strange, worn front tyre doesn't go very well the new rear :x :x

I'm officially pissed off!!!
