Boxer farting and cutting out!

Postby BoxercupDave » Fri Nov 07, 2014 8:40 pm

Another problem with the 1100... bike starts easily, tick over ok, start to ride and the engine misses occasionally, farts and and has sometimes cut out.
Once the engine is hot, bike runs ok... is this my valve clearances? :)

It's probably the throttle bodies need balancing, if it hasn't been serviced recently , check the valve clearances first , change the spark plugs , check the air filter and check the condition of the throttle body vacuum blanking plugs when you remove them to hook up the carbtune or whatever balancing device you or your mechanic use.

Just read your post.... Many many thanks...
I did not have any vacuum blanking plugs connected! Doh!
I did a quick plug by using heat shrink and the bike run so much better with no missing or cutting out.
