Thanks to all for the guidance, Paul’s lead to the chaffed red/white
wire proved to unearth a problem waiting to occur on mine, though not the cause of this snag. Having checked the "podule" and fuses all appeared OK, but still no clock display. I then moved to the r/hand side of the bike and the larger pod full of wires, plugs & relays, with the lid off, I found when the cabling, entering from the rear of pod, was moved the clock display came back and then faded away again. There is a blue 18 connector plug/socket assembly in here and when dismantled I found that the, red/white
wire, pin in the socket had corroded through and it was making contact when the cable was moved, these pins are less than a mm. I have not carried out the repair yet but this seems to be likely culprit. Will post pictures when I can work out how? Strange thing, the bike is low mileage and lives in dry garage, there is no sign of moisture in pod, and I have now given it all a soaking with WD40.
Cheers
