It's Gone

Postby sproggy » Mon Jul 16, 2007 9:25 am

Well, I'm now an ex-R1100S owner - the bike was collected by Steve/f90x on Saturday. Actually I was quite sad to see it go, particularly when I realised (as he rode it away) how fantastic it sounds to an onlooker....

Anyway, I hope he'll be very happy with it and I'm sure he'll be visiting Boxertrix quite soon.

It may take me a little while to kick the habit of visiting here although I can say with some certainty that I won't be buying another S or even another BM.

Cheerio.

Ian

Ha! That's exactly how I felt when the new owner of my Fireblade rode away the same morning before I went to collect Ian's 'S' except it was the look of the thing rather than the sound. I realised how good I looked on it

I had a great ride back to on Saturday. One of the most memorable for a long time. It didn't take long to get into the whole boxer thing at all. I do feel the vibes through the bars and my hands get a bit numb alternately depending on whether its at speed or through towns but I think I can ride around that. I Might have to get the pegs lowered too but otherwise it's great. I really enjoyed it. I can go faster over distance than I could on my 'Blade and it really inspires confidence. My cornering is already better than it was. Probably due to the fact that I am sitting up and can see a bit more. I have really got into the rock steady braking as well, I love having the front end staying level. There's not as much feel through the lever as with the 'Blade so it may take a little while untill I can fully master some late braking but overall my first 120 miles have been great.

I hope to try out a group ride sometime so I'll keep an eye out for the post's.

Steve

Whereabouts are you Steve?

Paul :hello2:
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

I lve in Central London but I keep the bike at my parents in Beaconsfield. It's a bit of a drag but I don't have a garage in London.
