FLASH TOURS - What a brilliant weekend

Postby Archie » Wed May 31, 2006 1:14 pm

My thanks to Tony ( ) , Violet and everyone else for such a great weekend. I haven't giggled so much for a long time. It was all superb roads, fantastic food, and good company.

I really did enjoy myself, although it may not have looked that on a couple of mornings!

So here's to the next Flash Tour.

Cheers

Alan

P.S. On arriving home I found a young pamplemousse hiding in my tailpack, so I've decided to keep him. He's called Billy, he likes his new home, and hopefully we can find him a girlfriend at some point.

So that's where my German Pamplemousse got to. Give him one of my socks to sniff Archie, there's a good fellow, and show him the door.

Great having you all down here. Suspension unit for the Stripple turned up and she's being fettled as we speak. 125mph in 2nd. I'll widdle all over your Gixxer, young'un

:D :D :D
Come on down to a FLASH weekend break in South West France!
Rufty-Tufty, tassled, Bikers ONLY. No cars please! (unless it's a Volvo Estate with a carbon fibre tow-bar)

A truly top weekend. Great roads, excellent company, fabulous food and great hosts. Looking forward to the next visit.

I didn't take too many pictures this year, but here are a couple. The first is a shot of Julian, showing his innovative use of gaffer tape on his Arai and the craftily improvised cup holder for his coffee:

The second one shows us in the grounds of the chateau, getting ready for the off:

I've added these to the gallery too. If anyone else has some 'photos of the weekend, post them to me and I'll add them to the gallery.

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Ah! That'll be the side-pod flying off when changing the visor and the retaining lugs snapping, by any chance? Only difference, my gaffer tape was silver.

Cheeky old git - not in a straight line it won't. Let me know the measurements for your bar risers, and I'll see what I can do. I like to help the old folk!

PS Pamplemousse refuses to leave.

Julian that's brilliant with the cup holder !

Are royalties payable or can I use that for free next time I'm stopped for a cuppa ?

Another fabulous weekend in great company, riding on some truly wonderful roads (I think we saw some traffic at one point, but I believe this is an unsubsantiated rumour)...

Biggest thanks go to Tony and Violette who go a lot further than that 'extra mile' to make their guests so comfortable.

A few pics - like Paul I didn't take that many this year having been on these trips a few times now. However, the antics of the participants are always worth catching on film...

After a hard day's work, the slog just gets worse... ;)

This was the 'what's your party trick?' part of the evening...

Thanks all - I had a ball. :)

Chris,
I get your point, but I think we have to be careful here. We are white heterosexuals so obviously have no real power to pass comment. Anyway,"if you have not tried it don`t knock it." By the way,I am off to the Alps next week without Gwen, and with 3 other guys. I hope there is not something they have not told me.
