Levels of stupidity on a School Day

Postby GRAgusta » Thu Sep 16, 2021 8:27 am

Yesterday was a school day, expensive but not disastrous. Of my three bikes one does not have a restricted size fuel tank nozzle.

I fuelled up the MV Agusta with Shell V Power .... diesel. Not the first person on this forum to have made such mistake I understand.

One sausage roll, one latte, and two hours later a very nice chap (born in Budapest and enjoying life in Scotland) turned up to pump out the tank, flush with petrol, and refuelled the bike with unleaded and a chemical additive. And bingo off and running again. I was in Cupar Angus he came from a previous call in Bathgate having been to six calls yesterday.

Not disastrous, but an expensive mistake.

Could have been a lot worse Gawaine, so that's a result!

We have 1 diesel and 1 petrol car, as well as the bike, and I have thought before the Shell pumps are an accident waiting to happen. Got as far as taking the wrong nozzle from the holster, but not actually trying to fill.

All the best
