Another 'old' boy returns

Postby McBoxer » Fri Apr 30, 2021 3:07 pm

Hi everyone - I've returned to the fold after a break from biking. Sold my 1100S and my 65LS a couple of years back out of necessity, but managed to procure a nice 80th anniversary 1150 Rockster over the winter. Not sure it strictly falls under the 'BMW's sportiest Boxer motorcycle' description on the website, but hopefully the Boxertrix massive will turn a blind eye to that....

Hopefully I'll get to ride it soon - an issue with my left arm has prevented it so far (other than a short blast when I first got it), but fingers crossed that's almost sorted. Getting old's a bitch, isn't it?

Welcome back. I can sympathise with the arm problem. I've got a problem in both shoulders. Should be OK on the GS (hopefully find out tomorrow) but not sure about the 12S or BCR

In my opinion , you are always welcome no matter what you ride !

A genuine band of bike enthusiasts will never be stuck up or snobbish, in my opinion !

However , I have detected some very strange folks out there who consider themselves elite .

But that's their problem, I've been riding more than 50 years and always happy to welcome any genuine biker, no matter what they ride !

Thanks all for the welcome back - lots of familiar names still on here, which is good to see. Is Steve Parry still around?

It's the white with black graphics version Chris. I love the lime green on matt black look also and nearly pulled the trigger on one in Scotland, but this one came up at a price I couldn't ignore. Has full luggage, fly screen, hand guards etc so all set for touring. I'd post some pics if I could remember how!

yes. the lime matt black did look good, I was tempted for one a few years back but Bournemouth Bikes did not appreciate my sincere reasoning why they should accept less money than they were hoping for!

I bought a Griso instead... that did not work out for me either!

The white and black looks pretty good also.

Enjoy.
