Need to organise some health / travel insurance for the upcoming Flash tour to France and I will be going to the continent again in August and November.

Anyone got any recommendations?

I'm not working on commission as my other half works for Brittany Ferries, but their own travel/health/breakdown cover is pretty reasonable. We're off to France and Spain for a week soon and I think it cost about £35 for combined travel and breakdown insurance. I think that was with a small staff discount, but even so it's pretty competitive.

Also, worth watching out for, some insurance companies exclude motorcycling in travel insurance policies, as apparently it's deemed rather dangerous! Worth checking the small print...

I always recommend Marks & Spencer. (Post Office a close second)

M&S has very clear policy booklet and is easily-understood.

Both the above cover holidays where the mode of transport (motorcycle) is fundamental to the holiday, rather than merely "incidental"

Check with your bike insurance or your bank account as well. I bank with the co op and have travel insurance through my bank account and it covers me for motorcycling abroad

Thanks all for the suggestions - will get on it Tuesday after enjoying the sunny, calm and dry BH weekend!
Got some pimples and mould release agent to scrub off the new Mich PR3's you lot recommended.

I'm off to France, Belgium and Holland late June and used to get free travel insurance through the bank my wife worked for at the time but this time had to shop around. After plenty of quotes of £40 plus for a 7 day trip from Tesco, Post Office etc, I got it through the AA for £6.80 with full use of bike!! Worth getting a quote online from them before you commit.

:o Great price!

I bank with Nationwide and get free worldwide family insurance including winter sports (and motorcycling) as a 'FlexPlus' customer 8)

Yes, Marks & Sparks for travel insurance.
Lets hope I never have to make a claim.

Would recommend checking the policy wording as some travel policies now limit the size of bike covered.

Post Office is one such agent. I think the limit is 1500cc

Mike,
I'm pretty sure Nationwide limit cover to 125cc bikes.

Mark, there is a 125cc limit if you don't meet the other stipulations: full licence for 3yrs, accident and conviction free (3yrs), rider and passenger must wear a crash helmet. I sought clarification on the accident/conviction free period.
