+1 on this.
Maturity tells me to back off in places where once I would have given it a big handful. I can still ride pretty fast in the dry but most of the time I can't be bothered with all the effort and rarely exceed 80. Years of fair weather leisure riding has destroyed my confidence in the wet. In fact I now ride like an old woman and have recently bought a cruiser.
