The Rain Man

Postby Grip Fast » Sat Jun 28, 2014 5:40 pm

Took the bike for its MoT this morning, and it passed :D .

On the way home, (only 8 miles), I went through the worst rain I've ever ridden through. There was very little visibility, rivers of water running off fields across the road - fortunately not muddy. And just outside the village, the road was flooded to 3 or 4 inches at the centre line, at a guess.

It has to be said, the R12S was very stable; even when I hit the flood water at about 30mph, it didn't shimmy (I did think it was an oh fcuk moment but kept off the brakes). The roosters of water filled my boots though, and water got in places I didn't know me or the bike had to get water in.

I'm dry, the bike is dry, but the gear is still dripping on the bathroom floor.
