The Wild Pheasant 2015?

Postby slparry » Mon Apr 28, 2014 4:15 pm

Sarah at the Wild Pheasant has been in touch to say it was a pleasure having the group again this year and hopes everyone was happy with the food, beers and service levels.

On behalf of the group I expressed my sincere thanks for the sterling efforts the hotel provided with extra beers, extra bar, lovely food and quick service. In particular this year I thought the service staff in the function room were "on the ball" and the new restaurant manager seemed to rally them as a team very well.

She has also asked about next year, and given my "keenness" last year opened a can of worms last time I'm keen this time not to upset other members.

One of the reasons we get such a great deal from the WPH is because we let them know so far in advance. As time moves on the booking slots get filled so they're less likely to do "deals" as preferential as our "early bird deals".

She mentioned another group has made enquiries for the Easter Weekend, which is the weekend of the 5th April 2015, and that as we are regular customers she'd prefer to give us first refusal for those dates.

I said the chances are, because of family commitments the actual Easter weekend would probably not be needed by us and that the dates similar to what we've had this year "may" suit better (so Fri 24 / Sat 25 / Sun 26) would be a reasonable pencil in date.

Now before anyone goes getting upset, this is only early discussions. :D

IF the majority would prefer to return to Betws y Coed then I'm happy to stand down from organising the weekend and let someone else sort it out for Betws.

However, if the majority are happy to return to the Wild Pheasant then I am again happy to sort it all out again.

Again if someone wants to take control and sort something out at some other region of Wales that would be no problem too :)

Please can every one add their bit to the poll :)

as a PS Sarah has confirmed they'll offer us the same deal yet again, this represents amazing value given how many years they've kept the deal to the same price!

Hi Steve,
Alan and myself agree with all your comments and have to say that as far as value for money goes I doubt if we can get a better deal anywhere. We both enjoyed the weekend although we did miss being on the Bikes. Thank You for all your efforts, Much appreciated. (Votes Cast)

If it's not broke don't fix it. I wouldn't think you'd find a venue to match the wild pheasant for value for money and first class service you've got my vote !!!!

Wild pheasant

Postby andy.gear » Mon Apr 28, 2014 7:44 pm

Hi Steve
You will not get better value for money than the pheasant so my vote is for the same location,
If the guys want to try another location there are many hotels in and around Lllangollen where they can stay, The pheasant is not compulsary,
Good area as a base with a wide variety of run outs near by, Also walking distance to town and a Spa to use for the SWMBO's so they can have a leisure day if they do not feel up to the ride out.
Well done all for a great weekend and great company

The nice thing about the WP is that we are all in the same place and in my opinion that makes for a more sociable event rather than being scattered around town, and there is more "other stuff" to do in Llangollen for the Ladies or if you opt out of the saturday ride.

Another excellent weekend.

TWP in 2015 works for me, and I presume the associated hangers on :)

Designated weekend or alternative dates whatever suits most folks, vote cast.

Wild Pheasant is good for us, thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.

As you said Steve, plenty of room and all the bikes just that bit safer than in the town, which is only a short walk away.

As others have commented; as it’s a get together, good to be all at the same place.

Vote cast. :D
