My Xbox 360 has died with the 3 rings of death, tried a couple of web fixes which work for an hour or so then fail again, Microsoft's website's quoting 60 odd quid or so to repair it, has anyone used them ? Any idea how long they take?

I just bought the cheapest arcade model I could and swapped over the hard drive Steve.

M8s who've had the official repair say about 2-4 weeks turn around,

Microsoft arranged a courier to uplift mine in less than 48 hours and I had a new console inside a week later.
Same thing happened again within weeks so I sold it for a PS3, Still got the same console years later without a single issue

My lad is into gaming. I don't really get it myself, although I probably still have my Spectrum in my parents loft.

I also have upstairs one of the earliest gaming machines.

Any one remember these?

Run around in virtual worlds killing other virtual inhabitants or race virtual vehicles around virtual tracks against others globally. Oh and stream movies from Netflix through it too :)

I used to play Call of Duty on the PC, but there are too many variables as in how much you've spent on the rig, with a console it's just how good the TV is and how much input lag it gives you, and I prefer to use a game pad as opposed to keyboard & mouse.

Hi Phil,
I can understand that if you play a lot.
