as im going up ti york in a few weeks sadly not on the bike , im looking at buying a sat nav because me and she who must be obeyed always end up falling out so easy option get said sat nav would appreciate some in put on what not to touch , and whats good cheers guys

It's one of those personal preference things, I've used tomtoms and garmins and the BMW badged garmins as well as some cheapy ones. Of all the ones I've used the garmins are my faves.

by the way did you get the running prob with your BCR sorted?

I have garmin nouvi, works fine, came from a place in newton abbot, i will see if i can find name, cheapest place in the country at the time i got mine.

+1 for Garmin Nuvi, never let me down. Now regularly used on the bike for European tours behind the screen on the GS.

cheers fellas have been looking at a nuvi 2595 lmt seems a good reliable one
steve still not solved running problems mechanic is comeing round tuesday and is acctually going to get his arse on the bike like ive been asking him to do all year cost so far throttle cables 220/ coil sticks 2 of 87 each delivered 4new plugs re balanced calibrated god knows what else lost count would of been cheaper to go to motorad in chester given them the bike and said sort it out. ya live and learn :cry:

One anomaly of the car-satnavs is that the power connection is usually a mini-usb.

If you install the satnav on a bike, you may find that the cable/plug is a bit fragile sticking out the back of the unit.

There is some outfit who sell a right-angled mini-usb fitting - so it is less likely to bust off. Well worth the few quid they cost, methinks

Don't forget the offer of me plugging my GS911 into it still stands :) It may or may not identify a prob but it's got to be worth a go.
