Why o Why o Why?

Postby Parky » Sun Jun 24, 2007 5:15 pm

Hi to Everyone,
My name is Mike Parkinson (Parky).
I bought an R1100s two weeks ago and am wondering why I didn't do this sooner. I used to have a K100rs16v about ten years ago and found it o.k. but a bit wallowy, but after the usual jap bikes I wanted something a bit better for er indoors and for touring as well, must say this is a different league altogether. It is just unbelievable how smooth and fast it is.I have already been up Scotland and also away with the wife to the farmyard party as well as rides out with the mates and have clocked up 2500 miles already.
Think I better phone bennetts and up the mileage limit on the insurance.
Once again Hello to everyone and hope to gain some knowledge from you in the future.
Parky

Hi Mike,
Welcome to the world of Boxertrix, hope you enjoy. Keep your eyes on the days out forum for a Sun morning Lard Fest near you soon. Quite possibly Helmsley or Pickering in late July.

Peter.

I do find it smooth. It's smoother than my last bike, an SV650s.
Two up especially is better.
As for the video, was that the farmyard party video cause I thought the one of me and the misses never went public?

BTW I work at York well stockton on forest anyway.

Hi Parky,

Not sure how I missed this thread, I think I was away that week. My mate owns the bike shop in the main street in Malton. Known him most of my life as we grew up living fairly close to each other.

I also came to the R1100 after a K100RS which did great for touring but wanted something more sporty.

Hope to see you sometime on the road.
