lucky man! very nicely kitted out, didn't know you could get panniers for the S, they look good.
Yep, I would go for high bars if had one, can't take the pain of low bars anymore (raised them on my 11S and makes a huge difference-only reason I might ever use low bars now is for a track day).

well i think it looks the nuts and i too would have the high bar conversion as unfortunately i'm a bit creaky and can't cope with the low bars any more over long distance. i don't see what's wrong with high bars anyway. look at the aprilia tuono, that's just an rsv with high bars. the 12s is a great looking bike and i'd love one in the colgate colours so if you do decide to sell it on testudograeca i'd seriously like 1st refusal as i may well fancy a change next year.

Here are some more photos of the handlebar, especially for the Dutch contingent.

Note the original clutch (and brake) hose bolted to the underside of the new yoke, plus the additional short length of hose from the top to the master cylinder reservoir - very neat.

that looks like really nice quality, and expensive. do you mind revealing the cost of that set up and do you have to change the levers or was that just personal preference? also, did you have to extend the heated grips cable or not?

Hmmm.... sure looks better from the saddle then from the side. Maybe it will grow on me. That would be a good thing: I'll be riding it 'till I'm eighty! Nice set of levers too.

AJ, I think either set looks good, but I guess it's how they perform that counts. One of the reasons I bought this bike was because it was fitted with the full Akrapovic system (about £1250 ?), and it also came with the original. I figured that if I don't get on with the bike, I can put it back to standard trim, chop it in for a GS, then defray my losses by selling on the race system.

f90x, the Wunderlich conversion is the best part of £400, and doesn't require any changes to wiring, etc. The kit comes with the necessary brake and clutch hose to reach the reservoirs in their new positions. The levers were just personal preference.

Have you got an alternative to the fuel warning light? The computer display is nicely obscured there!

The photo wasn't taken from eye-level; I have a clear and unobstructed view of the instruments when I ride the bike.

In any case, I carry a spare can of fuel in each pannier.
