My R1200s

Postby Mole » Fri Apr 03, 2020 6:07 pm

Just finished some changes to my 1200s, AC Schnitzer handlebar swap and MRA flip up screen, plus new discs and pads on front. Bracket made for rear bag attachment, fits between silencer and no.plate hanger. Ready for a few days clothes for trip away, but who knows when! :(

Looks good, I’d considered the super bike bar conversion but never got round to it. Let’s hope we can get out one day this year

If the night time temperature goes up a bit I'll be using the GS for work so although not the most exciting roads, at least I'll get some biking fix but suspect this year is not really going to happen

If you are a little imaginative with your route Dave can’t you take in a decent road

That's a very Smart looking R1200S you have there, Mole. Hopefully you can test out that luggage before the summer is over.

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

One route is back roads anyway Phil - depending on whether I'm day shift or nights I either go the scenic route or return the scenic route. The less scenic route is motorway and dual carriageway with a few nice roundabouts so in total a 50 mile round trip - not all bad just It's too familiar but at least I'm luckier than a lot. Anyone in lockdown might be worth volunteering for meds delivery on the bike.

Looks great, it would be interesting to hear how much difference the new screen makes.

Does look tidy and ready to roll. Any chance of a close up of the luggage bracket you made.

Thanks

Mick

Very smart Mole, that pack looks massive  Flip up screen certainly looks the part and love the smoked colour

Hi, a couple of pics of bracket made to attach rear luggage bag. Bracket is made of 40mm wide x 3mm thick stainless flat. Cut and welded into H shape then 1 piece each side at 45degrees added to take eye bolts.
Hope this is useful to someone! :D
