Scottish Borders Run

Hi, Some shots from my trip round the Scottish Borders on Sunday, from Edinburgh down the A701 to Moffat past the Devil's Beef Tub (first shot)into Moffat for some toffee and then along the A708 Yarrow valley, past the Grey Mares Tail and a stop for coffee at the Glen Café and St Marys Loch. The A708 has mostly been resurfaced now so a pure pleasure to ride. Then along to Innerleithen and Peebles and back to Edinburgh, 1 lap 125 miles! Anyone up here fancy a ride out round the Borders let me know.

That's a good circuit.

Was on the Moffat Selkirk road a few weeks ago, and yes - the surface is great now.

What I still hate - are the large rectangular manhole covers in the decent down into Moffat on the A701 :shock:

Thanks Al, those manhole covers are positioned right on the apex of two left hand bends as you know, also noticed the potholes round the edge of one of then now, that's an off if you hit one of them, have reported them to BEAR Scotland, here's the other shots I tried to put on.....

Great scenery, road surfaces there look very abrasive?

Considering the economic climate ( and this is not a densely populated area) they are not too bad at all. Jeez you wanna see parts of the A9 ! they certainly are abrasive.

Agree with boxerscott, don't think they're too abrasive, its the potholes you have to worry about

We have road kill to dodge here, wallabies, wombats, saber tooth possums :?
