Like Blackal said, only perhaps a problem if you bin the bike. If you did that, the bloody handlebars would be the least of my worries. .. TBH if the bars on mine when I came off had had more 'give' in them, the lock-stop on the head-stock might not have been chipped off by the top yoke and the ins...

Bars above the yolk is an official option but with the correct comfort bars fitted. They have a lug that seats into a slot on the top yolk. I have them on mine .. me too. Agree about std bars above yoke comments. .. tho can't really see a prob.. long as everything is tightened up... you could make ...

Just seen my mates r1100s with top mounted bars.. I mentioned that they should be locked somehow. He said they were.. Was a locating lug on handle bar which fitted into a larger slot in the top of the pinch slot on yoke.. (if you see what I mean.. can't get pic!)
