Re: Boxertrix Roll of Honour: Most prolific posters

Ahh yes, I remember that first meeting. We met up at Peterbourgh Services and rode over to Ashbourn - it seemed quite central at the time. If I remember correctly there was myself, Richard, Nigel, Malc, Mal and one other who's name I've forgotton and Winger came over to the hotel at breakfast on th...

Re: Boxertrix Roll of Honour: Most prolific posters

Wonderful stuff, Paul. :) I remember (I think) contacting Nigel Speaight and Peter Lyon when we were members of the Pelican Parts forum which was very much USA-centric. A great forum, but felt we might like a more UK-based set-up. This was November 2000 (I'd had my first 1100S for a few months). The...

I had a brief whizz on a Valkyrie a few years ago, was an absolute riot. A definite 'don't knock it till you try it'. :D

Re: Not a BMW

That's one hell of a clean example, Steve - a great find. I had my eye on one of these when I got my VFR. I tend to agree re the twin vs IL4 thing, and for the first few months with my Blackbird I missed the feel of a large capacity twin. Over time though, I got to love it - it's very different of c...

Re: The time has come!!

Nice one, Peter. :) I got very close to a return to biking very recently (in other words, started browsing Bike Trader) but I'm really not sure now. Spending time doing a lot of *photography (some of it even paid!) but would love to meet up with you and the gang at some point...it'd be on/in 4 wheel...

Re: RIOTD...

For a change, instead of getting out in the morning, took my one long walk this evening - so fortunate to have all this on our doorstep:

Re: Crass Stupidity!

BTW, a massive thanks to Steve for adding the word "wankspangle" to our collective vocabulary. I don't know how I have managed all of these years without it! A commonly-used noun in the military for many years, and an extremely useful one too. Can be lengthened to... 'W*nkspangling thunde...

Re: Richard Joyce

Many thanks all - am getting there slowly, tired a lot of the time but start cardiac rehab in a couple of weeks which'll give me goals to achieve.

Whilst I wouldn't be so dramatic as saying I was at 'death's door' it really has made me realise what's important in this life.

Re: Richard Joyce

Morning fellas, Thanks so much for the well-wishes, it's been a slightly tricky week to put things mildly. Been doing a lot of walking recently without a murmur - including a week's holiday up in Northumberland with the family (including the mad hound) where we spent most of each day climbing dunes,...
