Re: r12s 190/55 too big for you ilmburger hugger? Do this
I think the rear tyre size should be 190/50 not 190/55. The hugger should then fit

Looking forward to using it on the road and track. Struggling with COVID at the moment so not been able to ride it yet.

Re: Clutch Replacement 1200S
Going to be changing the fluid this week hopefully covid permitting. It has been done but in 2019 which apparently should be fine due to the fact that you cannot use clutch fluid in the 12S clutch but must use a special mineral oil which lasts longer. Using normal clutch fluid will damage the system...

Re: Advice on selling
I'm a big fan of Ebay 'classifieds' for bike sales. Cost used to be something like £22 with lots of pics. Sure, you get texts with "Will you take £900 for a quick sale, mate?" but easily ignored. Whatever you are looking for - add on £300 to allow some haggling. RC8 is a great bike by all...

Re: Advice on selling
RC8, amazing bike, but in my experience, one on which you need to ride fast everywhere to make it work - I figured I would lose my licence or worse hence why I got rid. Doesn't stop me hankering after another one though! Looking forward to trying something a little different. I always hankered for ...

Re: Advice on selling
I put my bike back to standard before selling and recently listed the parts I have accumulated and the only things to sell where the Ilmberger head covers so I think I would sell it as it is - the nice parts could offset the high mileage if a purchaser is bothered about that Very good point, I'm no...

Re: Advice on selling
Great points Phil, I didn't see a PX as a way forward as I was once told to eBay the bike and come back with the cash by a BMW dealer when it only had 60,000 on the clock. I think eBay may be the only option. I've gone with a KTM RC8 as it seemed a little out there which is what I loved about the 12...

Re: Advice on selling
Thanks Al, didn't fancy breaking it really due to space but there are some nice bits on it, luggage, iimerger carbon hugger Ohlins so might weigh up selling those and scrapping the rest. Wonder if Motorworks buys bikes to strip

Advice on selling
Unfortunately its time for the 1200S Humbug to be sold due to the imminent arrival of a replacement and I thought i would ask opinions on what the esteemed members think might be the best way forward. I'm only asking as its a tricky thing when you have loved a bike for 12 years and I know you need t...

Re: Clutch Replacement 1200S
Going to try that but have decided that the bike is going due to not having sufficient time to carry out all the bits. Put new fork seals in and new battery at the weekend so if anyone is looking for a project

Re: Strange vibration on my R1100S
Had mine checked at 90,000 miles and the mechanic said that they were bob on. I have never touched them or fiddled before so it seems to have managed all on its own. Its been thrashed within an inch of its life on trackdays, toured the Pyrenees a couple of times and performed in all weathers. Yes I ...

Re: Clutch Replacement 1200S
Well, went for a spin today of about 150 miles to see what was going on. No clutch slip at all in any gear but when riding for a few miles on fast A roads without gear changes, the lever was close to the bar when making the first few changes but moved out after two or three. Not losing any fluid in ...

Re: New to me R12s
Great touring bike with panniers and tailpack you have plenty of room. Done two 2500 mile tours with no problems at all.
