Re: Time for a Battery (again) R1100S
no, that's good to know - and in line with some of my experiences - I would assume all 1100's sap power when parked up - as non of my cells have ever lasted more than about 18months but your Chinese battery suggest otherwise. Yes I'd love to try Lithium but as its expensive and not tried and tested ...

Re: Time for a Battery (again) R1100S
Thanks re. the Odyssey they are good - I have one in my BDR Ford Caterham - and its been pretty good to.
Thanks for the model no. I will investigate suppliers and prices.
It makes sense to try and Odyssey next as I've not fitted one to the R1100S in the past yet.

Time for a Battery (again) R1100S
My batteries don't appear to last very long in my boxers (In reality I suppose I get 2-3 years reliably out of 'em) - I've tried all sorts over the years: OEM BMW, Varta, green Lucas golf trolley cell, etc etc. As both my batteries have not really survived the winter months this year (abismal at hol...

Re: Wanted: Source of a pair of "known good" injectors R1100SBCR
.. interesting thanks... so it looks like R1200 injectors might be the way to go and this place do the complete conversion kit: http://www.jt-c.com/product_info.php?info=p47_r1100xx-injector as its quite a bit cheaper I might explore the Saab componments first which look like they might go straight ...

Re: Source of "little 10mm fuel hose clips" or "jubilee" replacements....
Good to know - thanks I have sourced a variety of sizes in stainless single applications clips - should get them fitted at the weekend. Mind you I tried getting the fuel filter out of the tank on of my R1100S at the weekend - what a nightmare - I gave up in the end - any tips? - should I take the br...

Re: good source of hiviz 3M adhesive reflective stickers for System panniers
Yes I must admit I did that last time I toured with them - but I don't think the adhesive was very good on my chosen supplier of vinyl - some proper 3M backed material to cling to the slightly textured System panniers. I found these on ebay - would do the trick ... would be cool to find someone that...

good source of hiviz 3M adhesive reflective stickers for System panniers
I'm touring again in May - and getting my panniers ready again on the bike. With a tank and Wunderlich tail bag on my R1100S - I will probably run my system panniers with the city lids (as the full size lids can be too much for filtering and getting through traffic) Therefore any good reflective sti...

Re: Wanted: Source of a pair of "known good" injectors R1100SBCR
Thanks I'll bare that in mind and probably get a pair. What is the typical price of an OEM pair from BMW, and how does that compare with the compatible "SAAB" variant? Any known good mail order sources for any of these - or any recommended local agents such as "German/French/Swedish&q...

Re: Source of "little 10mm fuel hose clips" or "jubilee" replacements....
Thanks Jef - I guess it depends on which hose (as the R1100S has a few with clips on of various diameter eminating from the tank). First up I need to get some for my Ducati and they measure 10mm internal diameter so I have ordered 10 of these for starters 8.8-10.5mm size, and I'll try them for size ...

Re: Source of "little 10mm fuel hose clips" or "jubilee" replacements....
I notice the Mikalor ones are stainless insert with steel outer - is that normal or does anyone do them in full stainless like the lesser used PEX clip which appears to be full stainless? Just concerned to keep possibility of rust in the tank to an absolute minimum. I was surprised how clean my BMW ...

Re: Source of "little 10mm fuel hose clips" or "jubilee" replacements....
.... so would the 9-10.5mm clips be too tight for the R1100S hoses? - if so next size up?
Its amazing isn't it how you just need to know what they are known as to find them everywhere, thanks

Re: Source of "little 10mm fuel hose clips" or "jubilee" replacements....
Thanks very much all of you - some good leads there - I will get some ordered up and I will change my fuel filters next weekend now after I've got my hands on some and possibly a decent crimping tool. As I have three bikes that I know of that all use them - its worth stocking up.

Re: Wanted: Source of a pair of "known good" injectors R1100SBCR
So going back to the SAAB injectors - are these viable - any other mods. required to plugs or electronics, where is a good source for them and is anyone actually using them on a late R1100S sucessfull?
The link also shows two versions - which would work best?
Thanks.
