Re: WONT START
Steve, this is probably the best non-running diagnosis guide. http://www.bmbikes.org.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=21616 In particular the method of testing the fuel pump by bridging the relay and checking for flow at the return line The poor running last time it did start sounds very much like...

Re: WONT START
Bloody hell guys, what can I say, all the time and effort and discussing it at work too, I feel honoured. I dont get a lot of time off as not only do I have my shop to run I have another job part time too. As I've mentioned I have a go at most things on my bikes I owned, usually with success, unfort...

Re: WONT START
Wow, Hay ewe, You have been busy, make my head hurt too. Thing is, till this crap with the alarm started the bike ran perfectly. I think 1 of these plug in boxes this guy made has cooked something electrical somewhere. My haynes manual has good wiring diagrams in it, not that I fully understand them...

Re: BATTERY CHANGE AND ITS FAST!
My S bike has been parked for a while and the battery went flat. I didn't put the effort in to changing it and was quite happy to carry on riding my 1150GS. I need to do some service maintenance on the GS and as moto's are my primary transport, I needed the S bike. What a drama to change the batter...

Re: Mobile bike electrician
If you find its a real problem, then this chap has an excellent reputation amongst the restorers and classic bike enthusiasts. http://www.motorcyclewiring.co.uk/frameset.html Saving him as a last resort. Found a guy on another BMW forum in croydon, seemed to be highly rated, I'm on his waiting list...

Re: where is this fuse?
Hi Steve, You said in your other topic that you had looked in the left hand use box. From my deep and dusty memory banks, I seem to recall there is a fuse box on the right hand side too, in the corresponding place to the one you've already found. Hope this helps. Paul In my desperation I have looke...

Re: Mobile bike electrician
Steve, Buy an Haynes manual, check out your model wiring diagram. It can not be that difficult to restore to original? Surely. I have removed alarms before and did not find it difficult when armed with the wiring diagram. Chris Think I may have an r1100s workshop cd still lying about, I will have a...
