And it's better-looking than the 1200GS as well. (the 1150 has a prettier front end, but apart from that it's a slug)

Did somebody call :) The R1100GS is without a doubt the best, fastest, most reliable, sexiest, best handling bike in the known universe. I've got a 1998 and in 55,000 miles have changed the clutch, the clutch actuator arm snapped and I've had 3 blown bulbs. Every time I get on it I find myself grinn...

The point seems to be that putting semi-synthetic oil in your machine is a waste of money. Once you're run in use fully synthetic and nothing else. Also use the best filter you can lay your hands on.

F800ST.......brilliant :D Had a group down this weekend made up of 4 x R1200GS, 1 x ZX1200, 2 x R6, 1 x CBR600RR, 1 x Blade, 1 x R1150RT and 1 x R1150GS The BM's were, of course, the fastest (the riders were (ahem) "professionals"...) and the F800 performed brilliantly. Really quick...

nah.....stupid really (I really should listen to my own advice.) I'd just left the dealer in Cognac after the 1000 km service and I was heading back towards Melle on the road we usually take. I'd spotted a diversion for HGVs a year or so back and had never taken it so I thought I'd try it. It was OK...

Hi Flash, You know it's not going to have the engine braking of the GS and you may have to use the brakes! Incidently, I forgot to ask you to prove the brake light was actually connected as the concensus among the group was that it WASN'T, as no one ever saw the light come on! John The GS has got t...
