by the way someone was selling an official BMW funduro lowering kit on ebay, suspension arms, side stand and main stand. There's also a lower seat too if that's not enough :) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-F650-Funduro-Original-BMW-Lowering-Kit-Incl-stands-and-links-99p-Start-/230807811035?pt=UK_Moto...

Buy a used Japanese 125 such as a Honda CG125 / Yamaha YBR125 / Suzuki GN125 etc you'll pay the same or a tad more but you'll have something to trade in at the end of it. With the chinese bike route you'll have a...

Bloody hell Steve - stop it with the really useful info ok? Folk will start taking us seriously. :D ;) I had a 650 Scarver as a loan bike once (same motor as the F650) and despite me thinking 'oh great' (in a bad way) once I'd spent some time riding it that day it proved to be a total hoot. Great l...

They feature twin Mikuni carbs, twi...

Agreed, several of my friends years ago used to do the same when going to the Bol D'Or, they always reckoned the TGV was only a tad more expensive.

Would it not be better to get the ferry to Santander or Bilbao and arrive in northern Spain cutting out all those miles.
