I might be being daft here, but did you just turn the ignition on, or did you start the engine? On my R12S, when I turn the ignition on the light does what you describe and doesn't come back on until the engine is running.

OMG, please tell me they don't really talk like that. I couldn't understand a single word of it. Nah, some of those accents were Romanian. They sure as hell weren't Tayside. No Dundonian ever said "malky"! And no one got a "peh" from the replicator either - how is that &...

Winger, my eyes must be going then, 'cos I still can't see any K1200R Sport on Ebay, only regular K1200R. As far as I know all the Sport models are 2007 or later.

Big Rob, I know what you mean. I had a K1200S for a day from JC Tayside and your're right, it is a bit much. Still......

Hmmm. I've just this minute looked on eBay and couldn't find a single one. My conclusion is that there aren't that many around yet as it only got launched last year. Doesn't really help.

I can understand folk wanting a warranty replacement for a duff battery. Thing is, the chances are that they will replace it with another inadequate, probably cheaply constructed battery. Few seem to bat an eyelid at spending several hundred quid on carbon fibre bling, so skimping a hundred quid or ...

They are obviously completely different bikes, but both will do what you want them to do - just differently. I had a few test rides on various GS models over the years, but never liked the remoteness. It's obviously not an issue for many people, and probably over long distances that remoteness trans...

Ah, so it's a deep-discharge problem? I keep mine plugged into a conditioner if I'm not using it for a while, so possibly that's why I haven't suffered so far.

£70 seems a bit steep for a battery. Is it made from unobtainium?

What is the problem with this battery? I haven't had a problem with mine so far (oh sh£$t what have I said). To be honest, if mine goes, I'm not gonna fart around with a warranty claim, I'd prefer to pay for one that isn't gonna go phut.
