14 and a half grand for an aircooled boxer twin, just like everyone else's hmmm :( Yeah, bummer...but then there is the different fairing, carbon fibre everywhere, adjustable foot pegs, auto shifter that can be adjusted to give a race shift pattern, lap timing transmitter/receiver, forged wheels, ra...

Superbike racing yes, with an R1200, no

I just wanted to ensure that no-one is thinking that any version of the R1200S will be going superbike racing. The R1200S HP2 is for people with more money than brains (E.G. me f'instance; enough $$$ for the next race club race and no brains). The majority will be babied and displayed, I hope some w...

RoLoo,

how is it that you can get any idea of the price at this point in time. I can't even get my local dealer to confirm that the R1200S HP2 Sport is a possibility (to be fair, it might be something with homologation for use in Oz).

Euro 24950 = AUD40050...I think I can swing that.

Touring is not on the scope of supply for this bike

Check out this article from an Australian magazine. no fore or aft subframe, electronic gear changes, built in lap timing transmitter-receiver, close ratio 6-speed, 199kg fully fuelled, and on and on. YEP, that be the one

The color don't excite me and the shape isn't important; I'd look to change the body work to race 'glass and paint on the Colgate design in fluoro yellow and green (just to be as annoying as possible). As to the motor with an proposed 105 kw and 170 kg, I'm sold! The Lizard is going to be replaced b...

great videos

Thanks to Oyster for posting those clips. I've had to change the front engine cover and was puzzled that the maintenance manual did not address hall sensor plate timing. Now I'm curious why my bike runs at all as I just stuck the sensor plate on there.

Good stuff!

I've got the first version of the DriRider Airmesh. The price of a BMW jacket would pay for two of these jackets plus shipping. It is light and breathes so well when riding that you aren't aware you're wearing a jacket. I've been caught in the rain with it and the construction meant that I still kep...

Your results are very interesting. You've done quite a few mods, including the cam sprockets which I thought would give as good a boost as the exhaust, it is surprising that this is not the case. I've only modified bits outside of the engine; the exhaust has a two into one y-piece and single exhaust...

Re: Thanks and idle adjustment...

Thanks Jim and others for advice.:) The idle raise you mention...could you point me in the direction of the adjuster..had a quick look and can't see an obvious knob to turn..probably just being dim. Assuming the weater is good (not going if its pissing down!...fell off at Donnington on 7r on a very...

Airboxes are proven to help carburation by providing a volume of air at a relatively stable pressure. Even engines using supercharging typically have a plenum chamber for the same purpose.

Re: Track day set up

Hi All Any tips for track daying an R1100S? Gromit has suggested droping tyre pressures to 33/32. Got Metzeler M1 Sportec tyres on it at present..any comments on grip levels? Any other experience of pressures? How low before the cylinders touch down? ....can you get away with it or is a wheel lifti...

Kick starting it might be a challenge, but then anyone flush enough to have a bike powered by one of these probably has a butler to start it for him/her.

fuse box

If I recall correctly (I've completely torn out my wiring and redone it to suit the track), all the fuses live on the left side of the bike to the left of the head stock. The fuses reside in a relatively small square box up above and in front of one of the main relay boxes and you should be able to ...
