Re: BMW / Suzuki cafe racer mash-up
I'm not a huge fan of the cafe racer fashion (that said if i had the time i would have a go at one) but i do like the look of this; great idea to make it a prefab hook into the Suzuki Gsxr forks onto a GS1100. https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xta1/v/t1.0-9/12039191_894621123954458_758080201074...

Dobeck Performance USA - TFI chip
As mentioned over in tech - these units are now sitting on our shelves after being road tested [ by us ] for the past month.
We are waiting for the data spec sheets to come over and the final shipping / import costs to be sorted and then we will have a retail price available - couple of weeks max.

Tuneable chips - Dobeck Performance
After a few false starts with trying to obtain Power Commanders and other suchlike, we eventually dropped on Dobeck Performance in the USA. They already produce an off the shelf solution for R1100S [ and others ], but we wanted them to come up with a unit suitable for lightly modified bikes - DeCat ...

the parts we DON'T want are all the fuggly bits - it's the mechanics / bare rolling chassis we're interested in. 2K is a very good price to pay for the donor bike, ugly as it is, it is a very good bike! I'll be interested to see what you make out of it. one question though, is the canbus electronic...

Pete / Neil yes and yes. We are choosing the relevant data to suit the relatively lazy twin. I did the same calcs for my AlfaSud hill climber [ IHI turbo ]. That said, I grew up [ mechanically speaking ] in the 60's and Mechanical superchargers are my first love. Shorrock blown Renault R8 Gordini ra...

I think that you could drop that ST off a cliff and it would still look prettier than it started :D Agreed ... but at two grand it will do for a donor !! I'm guessing the parts we don't want will make around £600 - £800, oh yes and it's just been MOT'd ! The parts we DON'T want are all the fuggly b...

What's your target output? Normally I'd advocate sizing the turbo so that your target is 60-70% maximum compressor flow, no sense pushing it into the choke zone and elevating intake temps unnecessarily. I'm not so sure with a lower-revving twin though. On the one hand you don't want to make boost t...

Mind you don't over-size it. I did that with my first mechanical one and aerarted the oil pretty badly. Yes good point, we have all the relevant flow figures for these units - as well as 25 years experience using them. We're happy they'll do the job. Just looking for a suitable point to route the r...

I'm currently looking at the space underneath the gearbox, it will mean an additional oil return scavenge pump - but they're readily available and inexpensive. Are you going to use an electric or mechanical pump? There's one version of electric pump which uses a plastic impellor housing and it's qu...
