Re: Welsh Weekend 2025

Steve, do we need to advise menu choice (not that I'll remember what I've ordered)?

First Day of Spring...

Was probably yesterday tbh, went mad and mowed the lawn in shirtsleeves.

Leaving space today to take the RS out for a trundle, warm, sunny, dry underfoot; no doubt it will be horizontal sleet by the end of the week, but live for the moment!

Re: Another HP2 Sport anomaly

Oh joy... I know zip about HP2s but I've always relied on resetting the odometer combined with a reasonable idea of total distance per tank. I've never trusted electric fuel guages; an indication at best! But surely the bike has some indication of low fuel... Can a dealer help by querying the VIN ...

Re: Planned trips ...?

@Ian, I'll ask when I'm next up. I'm hoping to meet up with the folks from Shetland Classic Motorcycle Club then, and I'm sure they'll know who it is.

@Steve, yay, defo. One to mull at the Welsh Weekend!

Re: Planned trips ...?

Ah, indeed... I'm a bit antisocial like that, not a fan of huge crowds - I'm sure I'd enjoy it if I did it, so maybe I ought to get out more. Simmer Dim seems to be very popular, and hence the ferry is chokka with bikes before and after and you have to book super early or be prepared to travel 'hard ...

The link for the consultation is here: https://www.transport.gov.scot/consulta ... sultation/.

Doubtless responses will be ignored unless they are consistent with Our Betters' view, but hey...

Re: Planned trips ...?

Well I'll be off to Shetland for the annual puffin hunt in June.

Before that, in March I'll be in Tasmania aboard an F750GS, looking forward to it. We did a family road trip there a year or so ago and the roads seem made for motorbikes so I'm off for a Phase 2. Hopefully I'll get a pic or two, and ...

Re: Oh no not again ......

Indeed, well done Steve and I hope it goes ok.

My local independent mechanic reckons that round here (Warwick / Leamington) the number of 'proper' bike shops has gone from half a dozen to two or so over the last 5 years. Lord knows how it's going to play out with Reeves running the economy ...

Re: And I thought biking was supposed to be cheap...

Indeed! I was mulling further - the M has a top whack around 200mph (claimed 314kph) plus a load of high value stats to boost its credentials. If you demand the other two wheels, windcreen and heater without compromising performance, I guess you'd be in the market for something like a Lamborghini ...
