Sorry to bring up an old topic...though probably better than starting a new one! Will these fit? They're 5mm wide and I assume the T6.5's are 6.5mm? Some have gone on my f650cs, so I might replace the lot on both that and my r11s while I'm at it. Does anyone you know how many of each I'll need for e...

Just...but there's no way I can get a socket on there. However the hex bit is long enough to get a spanner on it.

On the topic of the 14mm hex issue...I brought one from Coulsdon Auto's earlier today for under £2.
I guess car's have large hex drain plugs too as that's what it was labelled as!
I got the last one in stock though. :P

Right, that's on now and sorted...though after cleaning my hands I've just remembered I didn't tighten the main bolts - doh! I see what you mean about the bolts - I'll try grinding them down a bit, maybe quite a bit and hacksaw a slot in to it to screwdriver it on. Thanks for the help - I think it w...

Your bike is so clean!

Thanks for the info and images - I'm sure I'll be fine now.

I've got a vanderlinde, I ordered a buffer thing to stop the stand hitting the exhaust...but I'll have to figure out where that goes too.

Thnaks!

Thanks - I'll have another look as soon as I'm able.

When referring to the frame, you do mean the bike frame rather than the centre stand itself, right?

Thanks,
Adam

Centre stand fitting

Evening all. Could someone do me a huge favour and take a couple of pics of their r1100s centre stand so I can see where everything goes? The main bits are in place though I have a couple of spare normal bolts, a bolt that the spring attaches on to, two springs of different sizes and a cam-shaped wa...

r1100s '98 vs r1100s (twin spark)

I absolutely love my r1100s, and have been contemplating an upgrade to a newer twin spark model - but would there be that much difference between my low milage '98 model and a newer version? Mine's standard apart from the Vanderlinde system it came with. I'd like to continue to use this on a newer m...

Yep - learn to slow down/stop your breathing at traffic lights, find the "sweet spot" on your visor so you get enough airflow, but no rain/wind in the face and...always have all the vents open, at least until you get on a motorway.

...or buy a better helmet. :P

Only 400 miles for me on the S to Lincoln and back in a day - but I've still got a few years ahead of me to better that. :)

I'm quite the opposite. I love having a nice clean shiny bike, but I simply cannot be arsed to do it.

I've got myself a Kwak KL600...now if I could only get used to kick starting the motherf'er. Roads are very greasy this time of year thanks to salt and lots of moisture coating everything - so be extra careful. Of course it does mean that getting the rear wheel spinning up while overtaking hap...
