impressive stuff, what are you racing against? keep the pics going - much more fun than showroom polished driveway pics  er no offence Gromit... Thanks for the interest! I'm racing against tt660 powered supermonos, Ducatis, R1s and R6s, Kawasaki ZXR750s and several GP250s. This isn't a power ...

Some fun at the track

This is a picture taken during my most recent club race day in April. It was a fun day and I managed a personal best, but still some 7 seconds away per lap from being competitive...must try harder! Sheesh! sorry about the size...I can't do anything about it as this link is from the clubs website. ht...

I've had my own test ride

After Mike took his test ride, I had to try it as well. Since I can only compare to my 1150GS Adv which I've had both on the road and the track, and the 1100S only on the track, this report will be a bit skewed. I did try out the 1200GS on the road, but only once and it was a long time ago. As Mike ...

Second hand riders report (by a GSer)

Hello Men, this report is from a friend that took a test ride on the first R1200S in Adelaide...here are his impressions; I took it out for a test ride yesterday arvo I took it up the Eagle on the Hill then over the top of Mount Lofty, Cold Store Lane, Norton Summit and back MY impressions compared ...

I just wanted to stress what Julian wrote. Make sure the throttle cables run freely after it is all buttoned up. The fuel lines will tend to snag (well...everthing, but at least) the right hand throttle cable and pull the tip out of the socket at the throttle body. If this tip doesn't reseat into th...

I believe the Motronic controls everything including ignition and injection. How would the Motronic controller be eliminated without going to standard carbs and a points breaker ignition? Anyway, sampling has to be done constantly to adjust for the variation of loads from just riding down the road, ...

The back of the bike is jacked up and the preload wound tight So in order; edge of tyre, knee scraper, head (or if I'm lazy and don't lean off far enough; edge of tyre and then head at which point the bike becomes a tripod and starts spearing off the track). I've only once felt the hero knob touch d...

Hah, I got all youse guys beat. For the 'S' I've tossed out the whole shootin match...tax disk, registration (well, the frame plate is still there). Of course, it's only good for the track now... But for the GS, the tax tag is under the seat with the owners manual (believe it or not, this was sugges...

Other than having difficulty with a false neutral between 3rd and 4th on the S and a persistant problem of not wanting to shift all the way through neutral to second from first (either bike, about 20% of the time), transmissions on both my S and GS are pretty good. The clutch seems bullet proof. I t...

reduced wiring

Has anyone seen or made a schematic to show a wiring diagram reduced to the basics? I'm planning on losing the alternator and starter motor, and I certainly don't need all that wiring used for turn signals and brake lights going for a ride. I've removed the Lambda sensor already and have found how t...

Thanks for all the comments; serious or otherwise. The best time of the day was set by Dave Johnson who will be taking part in the BSB series this year. In fact, he left for the UK on the Wednesday after this meet, setting a 1:09 on a Yam 1000. I think he was cornering faster than my straight line s...
