Re: Replacing my Nav VI...

... you ever thought of doing a dedicated review site/youtube, could be interesting and maybe make a little wonga on the side. Thanks Phil, but I think that particular niche is already fairly saturated, and I don't buy as many "toys" as I used to, so would struggle for content (and viewer...

Re: Replacing my Nav VI...

So... Having lived with the Carpuride 702 for some time, I like the concept but there are a few elements of the implementation I think could be improved. To that end, I have bought a Chigee Air-5 Play for BMW, with the goal of reselling whichever one I decide not to keep hold of. The Chigee is a muc...

Would love to join you, but SWMBO seems to think that weekends are "our time". Happy to meet up during the week if you are around?

Cheers,

Re: The obligatory whiz up the Bealach

Looks delightful Steve, but with my fish allergy, it would probably finish me off. I hope you didn't let them fob you off with whiskey after that when they probably have a bottle or eleventy-two of whisky around which would be much more in keeping with the location.

Cheers,

Paul

Re: Ex RC8

Wishing you a speedy and full recovery. I'm guessing the damage to the RC8 isn't just going to polish out... Presumably the car that hit you was turning right without spotting you coming the other way?

All the best,

Paul

Re: Replacing my Nav VI...

Hi Phil, Regarding phone battery drain, I was down to about 30% remaining on my iPhone 15 pro max after about 7 hours of riding. I have a little USB power bank that will charge the phone about 3 times, so with that plugged in I would have no worries at all. Normally I get through a whole day startin...

Re: Replacing my Nav VI...

I tested the "Crapuride" over the Welsh weekend trip. Generally it worked well, but I do need to get an anti-reflection screen overlay, since the polished screen can blind you when riding with the sun behind you. I also had a few GPS connection problems with my phone in my jackets breast p...

Top weekend! Thanks to everyone for coming along and making it such a great event. Particular thanks to Steve Parry for his organisation and route creation efforts,

Here's one of the pictures I came away with:

Re: Replacing my Nav VI...

Thanks for that tip Al. I will be giving my 7 inch screen a thorough test at the Welsh weekend. I have just downloaded MyRoute-App and am getting to grips with that. No turning back now since I sold my Nav VI to our chum in Fife.

Re: WW 2024 Concours d'Elegance

OK folks, Judging of the bikes will take place in the Hand Car park at 09:30 on Saturday morning. The three winners will be announced at the dinner on Saturday night at the Hand, and the winner's prize cups will be handed out. If any of the winners are not staying for dinner, I can give them their c...
