Re: Replacing my Nav VI...
Thanks for that tip Al. I will be giving my 7 inch screen a thorough test at the Welsh weekend. I have just downloaded MyRoute-App and am getting to grips with that. No turning back now since I sold my Nav VI to our chum in Fife.

Re: WW 2024 Concours d'Elegance
OK folks, Judging of the bikes will take place in the Hand Car park at 09:30 on Saturday morning. The three winners will be announced at the dinner on Saturday night at the Hand, and the winner's prize cups will be handed out. If any of the winners are not staying for dinner, I can give them their c...

Re: Replacing my Nav VI...
Thanks Al for posting about the BMW cradle adapter. That looks like a better solution than the one I lashed up, and will allow me to remove the device when parking up with the bike... If only they incorporated a small battery or something in that adapter to preserve power momentarily while starting ...

Site stability poll
Folks, I have been investigating behind the scenes why we have been having these "SQL Gone away" error messages when trying to access the site. I have made some configuration changes and it appears to me that the site is running a lot more reliably than before. Can you please answer the po...

Re: Replacing my Nav VI...
@Ianc53 - PM me if you are interested. I can bring it over to the Welsh weekend or post it to you if we can agree a price @ Andy Griff: The honest answer is I don't know for sure. I downloaded the connect app when I got my 1250GS over 5 years ago but after 10 minutes playing with it, I abandoned it ...

Sad news from Chateau Flash
For those of you lucky enough to have been on one of the trips down to Chateau Flash in France, for one of their legendary motorcycling weekends, you will be sad to hear that Tony's wife Violette passed away last week. Tony has posted this sad news on the Flash Tours Facebook page.

Re: Error Message
The site seems a lot more stable since I changed the registration validation. Is anyone still getting those "MySQL server has gone away" error messages?

Re: Error Message
It looks like we are under a Denial of Service attack. I just cleared out 700 new accounts on the site registered this month, with 35 of those registered today before 7:00 AM... not sure how to stop that, other than changing our security question for new account creation.

Replacing my Nav VI...
Well, having been scuppered on last year's European tour by my Garmin/BMW Nav VI not working with Basecamp on my Apple silicon MacBook, I thought it's time for a technology change. Being able to use BaseCamp to create a precise route on the roads I wanted, was the only reason for paying the outrageo...
