Seems I had misjudged Motorrad.
I got back a nice letter apologising & saying their database had been wrong but would now be updated and they would refund me the extra costs I'd incurred due to their incorrect information.
Well done them.

Bought an MRA Vario today.

No. I am still covered. All the brokers refused because their system only showed (correctly) 1085cc so I went directly to insurance companies where they make their own decisions and ended up with LV. They band machines into capacity groups, in this case 1050 cc to 1150 cc so on that basis I am still ...

I'm sure the calculations are correct but the point I was raising was were some 1100 fitted with 1130 motors as standard from the factory (which according to BMW here mine was?)
