just seen this post. was there last night and today. racing wasn't the best , but had a blinding weekend. main problem was the other half didn't want to go up and down the hill so viewing was mainly limited to the top of the circuit, i would have preferred to spend more time down at the first hairpi...

I take it that you can use standard car oil in the R1100? , just that i've got about 10 litres of motul 5100 in the cupboard, but i'll save that for one of the other bikes.
also what's the best gearbox and diff oil?

a" previous" owner say 130 two up with luggage, up hill and down hill with the wind behind them.
I reckon another 10 on top of that solo would be easily acheivable

I could have got a mamola rep over a grand cheaper than my RWB BCR, but felt that if you're spending that sort of money then you should get the bike that you really want, not almost right. think that the ohlins is worth it, but if the colour is more important the £!K that you save would almost pay f...

I took one of these out a couple of weeks ago and was totally blown away by it. I've never been on a bike that had such good and natural handling. from the first mile i gelled with it and was able to throw it around (2 up) as easily as my 2012 speed triple that runs scrubs. I loved the gearbox and t...

Now you mention it, I went into Hein Gericke in Carlisle and he asked me if I'd just bought mine from a dealer in Carlisle[/quote]

That may well have been me, I ran that store from 2004-2007.

I used one of the accelerator plugs on my k1200r cost about 30£ delivered, and made it a joy to ride around town, rather than a bucking bronco that it was before.

No, wasn't me on Wednesday, but its amazing how many of these you see considering that there's only supposed to be 40 left on uk roads. I spent 3 months until I found a RWB BCR, and then saw another one at devils bridge on the day I bought it.

Thanks for the answers, that's pretty much what I expected. I would like to keep the heat shield, as I'm sure there's a reason that BMW put it there in the first place. Not bothered about the pillion getting hot legs, but don't want the paint to blister. Its already happening on the belly pan.

Pannier fitting heat shield

Started fitting my pannier rails earlier and most of it is straight forward but I'm struggling to figure out whether the heat shield on the left side goes back on, and how. I could wait for the fitting instructions to arrive , but they're on back order from Germany (at the astronomical cost of 50p +...
