Nice report Steve. So how would you test to see if the secondary coil is faulty? Or is this not necessary?? Cheers Unfortunately not so easy..... The only concrete way of telling is reading a fault code. If the O2 sensor reads high HC's, the engine ECU would normally fire the secondarys, which in t...

TESTING COILS ON A TWIN SPARK

I suspect this is already on here some where but... If you have a high speed misfire, or stutter, and suspect a stick coil here's a nice easy way to test.. Run the engine till warm. Be VERY CAREFUL in the next few steps, as the exhaust will obviously be hot!! Expose the connections to both the prima...

HERE SHE IS!!

I collected this bike this morning, it rides superbly, very clean, not mint but very clean. It's also more comfortable than I imagined, once the wind lifts you slightly at speed it seems to take the weight off your wrists. I love the Boxer engine, this ones a peach!! http://i967.photobucket.com/albu...

Morocco

Well OK, not done but doing?

On Tuesday I set off for Morocco. I'm taking the ferry from Poole to Gijon, then riding through Spain to Algeciras where I get the boat to Cueta. Don't have many plans other than to see as much and soak up as much as poss!

I'll do a photo diary on my return.

Re: Grating sound

Ive got a sort of dry grating noise coming from the front pulley area of the engine. The tone does go up and down with revs of the engine just like worn bearing would sound ... Anybody had this problem ? If you need a front pulley i have one, i think its the modified type, let me know if you want i...

I HAVE FOUND ONE

Well, I've found and bought an R1100S. I have also sourced the BCR I want to buy, but I'll have to save up a bit for it, but I will have it... So, what I've got is a 2002 1100S in Glacier Blue. It's done 24,000 miles and been pampered....the bike has done 2 miles since the last MOT! The bike is Non ...

I removed mine from the GS. Don't be too concerned about the make, they are all basically the same. As someone else has said all you need to do is find the siren/controller and work back. There will be roughly 5 wires, 1. Power supply (usually fused) 2. Earth 3, 4&5. These will be 'T'd into the ...

Just replaced my lid as BMW series 6 flip was on offer at my local dealer for£250. Some still in stock I found mine painful at first, had to carry a spare in the panniers and swap after about 30 minutes use. Took a while to "bed" in but is now comfy as comfy can be :) However, even reduce...

BIKER FRIENDLY B&B IN NORMANDY

Dont know if anyone has posted this but we have stayed here many times. Its run by an English couple, Nigel and Carol, who it has to be said are the perfect hosts. It's spotlessly clean and not to far from Caen/Le Mans.
