I'm cuorious about the M6 nut. What happened to it? Did OP throw it in the bin?
Or is it still doing service somewhere? Holding something attached to something else?
Surely, the nut cannot be blamed for this calamity?
I don't think it's very important what oil you use. The important thing is you change it! The combustion develops some nasty stuff. Some of it is taken care of by the oil. But at some point it gets saturated. It needs to be changed! Change your oil! Since the R11S has a dry chutch you can use any oi...
Swedish guy built a turbocharged BMW. http://thekneeslider.com/stellan-egeland-builds-a-slugger/ Not much info on the turbo installation, and it's not a R1100, but an HP2. Most custom built showroom/trailer queen bikes don't work very well, but this one seems to be an exception to that rule. There's...
Do you have the integral brakes? If so, if my memory serves me correct (long time since I did this), one of the front calipers is bled manually, the old fashioned way, and the other by turning the ignition on and pulling the front brake lever. The system does the rest. Brake fluid does not come from...
Oddly enough when I suggested the possibility of getting an R11S some people suggested it would be a disappointment after the R12S. Well I found the R11s has more character and despite being a bit lardy is a very enjoyable ride. The new Aprilia is a somewhat mad version of the R12s which I loved ow...
First thing to test: when it happens, keep the engine on high idle and grab both exhaust pipes with your hands. If it's a stick coil on its way going south, then the pipe on that cyl will warm up slower. Obviously, you can only do this att startup, and you don't have many seconds to to do it. Next t...
Do you have some kind of aftermarket device on your bike? what does it do?
There's no mention of an immobilizer or anything in the 2004 owner's manual.
Totally worthless. I got stuck once, with the BCR, out in the sticks outside of Jurmala, in Latvia. It was on a muddy gravel road that was covered with a thick layer of sawdust, for some reason. It had rained a lot, so the mud had softened. Never have I felt just how heavy 210 kg+panniers are than w...
I've ordered stuff from motorworks. No problems at all. Mind you, it was a year ago. Or two. Can't remember. But this issue with different prices, i thought that they are pretty much the same in all EU, since there's no toll or duty or whatever it's called, between the countries? Perhaps motorworks ...
What type of glue do you think you shall, use to re-affix the foam liner as well as it was originally fixed? It was held in place with just a thin piece of bitumen. That's why it popped loose so easily. I'm sure Shoei meant it to be removable, otherwise they would have glued it on with some adhesive...
I got it out!
I pried the styrofoam carefully with a screwdriver, at the back of the helmet. It popped loose quite easily actually. Then I had to squeeze the helmet hard, to get it to a more round shape while a friend pulled the styrofoam with the lining on out.
Got a Shoei Z-one that i'd like to wash the fabric liner on. I was able to take off the chin pieces, and also the part that sits in front of your mouth. But the big styrofoam thingy? Can you take it out? I don't want to use too much force in pulling it out. I might break it. Shoei website says that ...
Yes, that was a pretty good way to describe it. The point of contact is called...ehh... it's called momentancentrum in swedish. Don't know what it's called in english. Momentary center?
On a rolling wheel, in the point of contact with tarmac, the wheel has 0 speed. The forward moving vector, and the rotational vector cancel each other out. We can try to apply this principle to a tyre on the road but it fails on lots of levels. Deformation and slip spoil it. A billiard ball on a fl...
