I've got a good size stone built out house. A good 12' by 10' with a slate roof and a double glazed window, but no power inside (easily sorted though). It has a brick furnace in one corner, and a giant stone work top across one end. It was a nail makers shed apparently, and our huge mound of a garde...

Could try a later, low mileage air cooled 1200RT... For me I'd avoid the LC until a few years down the line - New model BMWs have a tendency to have teething issues... Which BMW never admit to. The model a few years after always seems to be better. Its a shame the K1300GT isn't still available new..

TC - to be fair (to you) I've never ridden a 1250 so can't comment from experience, it was from a friend who'd ridden one. It would appear the bike just has a solid wall of torque from tickover which remains flat pretty much all the way through, with no power step at all. I'll bet it's an ideal 'ro...

I've had 3 bike from Rainbow, all have had to go back multiple times for warranty work and where ultimately sold due to this. Techs are good and knowledgeable, but when something goes really wrong on your bike and it has to be referred to BMW uk, I don't think they're the best at fighting your corne...

What about an older (better looking) 650 vstrom? Or even a 1000 vstrom? That v-twin is a very nice engine. :) I had a green and black gladius that I bought new for 4k. It was a very nice bike, but the finish took a pounding for the one winter I had it (used every day though, and never washed as we l...

Steve, my GT went to a new home today. :( I was sad to see it go, but I'm also quite relieved to be honest! Used the proceeds to pay off the (very small) loan for the R100S and a few other bits and pieces. Debt free and only have the very cheap the run airhead now! :) Going to try and stick to the o...

There's an R12r now sitting next to my R12RT in the garage. I bought 2007 model same as my RT12 as the wheels etc will swap over (I have a spare set of wheels). 80,000 miles less than my RT so it's like new. Mucho fun, I'm keeping her naked, I have the RT if I want to keep out of the rain and wind ...

How does the shaft compare to a modern BMW? looks more like the earlier system used on Airheads... Not really. The following link has a decent cutaway photo. I think this novel and ingenious solution is peculiar to guzzi. http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/CA.R.C. Like eyore, I found a stelvio I test rod...
