i wondered whether different levers had different pivot points and whether this had an effect on the leverage applied - hence a different feel

clutch lever r1200 s

hi, even though i have the adjustable lever set to its nearest position, i would prefer it to be less or a reach. Has anyone tried any of the aftermarket levers and apart from the reach, are there any that can make the clutch action feel lighter?

thanks

is the bike fully standard ie no HID lights fitted at all? Sounds like something us R1200 s owners should follow - i dont fancy getting stranded somewhere with no lights - please keep us posted

i think mine are the HPE ones - it is etched on them at the front when i can be bothered to polish them! The Bos ones i have come out of the head and then go straight to the bottom of the engine into the collector section. They are not curvy like the HPE ones but are still quality items from the loo...

i prefer the shape of the one thats on - i can recall what make it is - i think its the one that sandbar used to sell which is quite curvy. The Bos one uses straight runs into the collector - i suppose its a personal style thing!

front pipes

i have a brand new set of Bos front pipes in their box - never been fitted in the garage. Got them a while ago to replace the aftermarket ones on my R1200 s that are a bit tarnished and generally tatty. Keep thinking about either swapping them or flogging them - but i know if i sell them i wont get ...

hi, i have the HPE front pipes and straight through carbon cans on my R1200 s. I already had the temp sensor mod before i put the exhaust on. I have had no issues but didnt extend the sensor wires - i just teased more length by cutting the cable ties at various points. My limited understanding is th...

knackered cells in batteries give some real strange symptoms, including all those you list. Other than the battery it might be worth checking for a break in the earth lead. Just make sure your other battery is good - it wouldnt be the first time someone has replaced a dodgy one with a slightly bette...

sounds like a dead cell in the battery. id try a new battery and see how it goes - i think the fact that it shows 13.5 may be a red herring, under load there seems to be next to nowt

thanks chaps, i must admit when i put them on the bike it was a transformation - sounded good and seemed to generally smoother everywhere. Like you say, it might be a waste to let them go with the bike.

Were the HPE pipes any better than any of the other brands?
