Re: 1st trip of '24
Hi Steve, are you doing the NC500 clockwise (heading up West side of Scotland) and coming back down the east side? Thing is, Mrs Big Rob & I are booked with our van on the Black Isle from 10th to 14th June with our 2 Dogs. I'd love a "valid" reason to ride a motorcycle to our chosen l...

1st trip of '24
So as it's my 50th anniversary of riding bike, and my 66th birthday on the 10th June we're going to do the NC500 again, and a whistlestop tour of various seafood emporiums enroute, as I like the Applecross Inn and I think spending my birthday there would be very agreeable :D If anyone is in the area...

Fuel Strikes in France
Apparently there's fuel shortages in France at present, for example 60% of fuel stations in the Paris area are currently out of fuel.
Just in case anyone is venturing over soon.

Re: Ex RC8
Thanks Al, the Air Ambulance was on scene within 15 mins and the police and ambulance were by all accounts fantastic, I of course didn't see any of it. I am under no illusion as to how lucky I was with the outcome. Nearly 100k on the 1200S and not a scratch, 10k on the RC8 and this is the end resul...

Last time we used the Peage I just used my bank card no need to input the pin it just read it and away, that was 2019 I dare say that they’ve been upgraded by now to contactless. So all you need is a handy safe place to keep it. Just keep an eye on which class of vehicle they charge for, but a quic...

The HP2s is ‘special’…………. Been threatening to sell mine for last couple of years, now - as I just seldom get a chance to ride it. Now - all standard apart from the HP4 mirrors. Think the mileage is still below 6k and still qualifies for BMW warranty, I believe. I guess you have ridden one before, ...

useful item from my trip last September was to get a toll tag for the autoroute, saved so much hassle. I used Bip & Go in the sleeve pocket of my BMW jacket

Re: Ex RC8
Six broken ribs, two fractures to the pelvis, ankle fracture, both thumbs fractured, one with detached tendon, amnesia and soft tissue injuries to both knees but apart from that i'm fine. At least I got a ride in a helicopter, just sad I wasn't conscious enough to enjoy it. 5 weeks on and I am up a...
