I traded a Thruxton in when I got the beemer. I loved the bike but it was playing havoc with a recurring knee injury although thats not half as bad now as it was then and I wish I could own both. The thing I found on the Bonnie was that it was deceptively quick and handling was very light - it could...

I'm with Steve, get it to a bmw dealer - it's your right, the insurance company can't object. I had an off on a GS about 4 years ago - it was unrideable but recovered under the bmw breakdown assistance. Got taken to Allan Jeffries in Shipley, was there quite a few weeks (months if I remember correct...

Stageonset are good for the odd fastner needed in a hurry and I have used them myself, however I would think for a complete set they might prove a tad expensive. I'd drop Steptoe a line either on this site or on ukgser, he certainly used to do kits for the various 1100/1150 boxers and they were a ba...

I've just mounted it to the mirror stem (close to the ball socket) using a standard ram u bolt affair that I'd previously had on my GS. Don't have any pictures but I'm sure Lars has done the same thing and there are certainly some pictures on this site of his bike somewhere. Realise this isn't a lot...

Can't see the problem myself, as Blackal says if he wants to get somewhere far he's got the capacity and when he gets there he just clips them off the bike. Even with them on it looks no better or worse than any other R1100s The BMW rails are so unobtrusive anyway - it's one of the things helped me ...

Crowtree
Winger, Crowtree are top draw. I've had a full race suit and pair of leather jeans off them in the past and the quality, design and fit is second to none. The fit really is superb with no excess bulk anywhere and armour placed just right over joints with no possibility of it shifting in a crash. The...

I had the dubious pleasure of sliding down the road after my GS about 3 years ago - not fun. I'd just fitted some Hepco and Becker crash bars which bore the brunt - they were actually pushed over from their central position and ended up resting against one of the cylinders which was unmarked. The ba...

Staintune exhaust and Ilmberger Hugger - advice please.
I'm about to fit an Ilmberger hugger which I've eventually got round to buying for my bike. My bike has the sport package fitted plus staintune exhausts fitted (two pipes running up from behind the wheel). There doesn't appear to be a great amount of clearance between the hugger and the exhaust clos...
