Brake light on all the time..
My brake light is permanently on with the tail light.. When I put in a fresh bulb it seems to work fine for a bit and then within a few days its stuck on. The bulbs came from Hein Gericke and are not OE bits (FWIW).. Is this a simple, common issue (ie. wrong bulb) or do I need to wade in and go thro...

Hope all is well with your new addition and that your enjoying fatherhood as much as i am. Indeed I am enjoying it 3months in, especially as we're on a weekend away in Dorset and junior is now fast asleep. He's just started to laugh which is hilarious - you've got to be there... The S has acquired ...

Well done Gus, I have had a car now for just over 4 years (since getting a dog...). Had the S longer :D Now on my second car as a grown up.. There'll be lots of new things to get used to like heaters, stereos and storage space. Oh and a roof... Its shocking how baby paraphernalia can fill half a bac...

Looks very nice. Don't go over the top with the restoration, just get it well sorted. Bikes like that look great showing the patina of the years. Here is one of the coolest bikes I ever saw, cosmetically not good, but on close inspection everything was sorted, new cables fresh gaskets etc: http://l...

Make sure any nearby drains/gullies are covered for when you drop the front lower allen bolts trying to get them back in - as I frequently did in a recent battery event... I suspect using some 't' handled, round nosed allen keys rather than the BMW tool kit ones would help. Spent more time looking f...

If you mean the bit I think you do, then mine makes a right racket and has done for about 6k miles. Its worse when hot, the bits wear and when the engine pulls in mixture, it opens the butterfly a tiny bit which then springs back and causes the tapping. Apparently its normal. If its a different bit,...

You could do what I do... ride more slowly at night  Never been particularly impressed by the headlights on the S but as I rarely ride out of the city at night, its never an issue. At least the lack of dive on the front means the lamp actually points in the right direction on the brakes rather...

In my attempt to get to the poly V belt, I ended up rounding the soft allen bolts holding the black bit on which were stuck and very soft - winters have not been kind to my S. Took it to an indy who sorted it as part of general fettle. It depends on the condition of the bike - bear in mind the faste...
